Thanks to Bill Richardson for sending me a link to this video clip! It's a news story from a local station in Arizona detailing the arrest of a dozen members of the Sinaloa Federation in Oklahoma. They were moving about 10 pounds of meth per day, and reportedly told authorities they were instructed by their DTO bosses to move north due to Arizona's new immigration law:
Analysis: Mr. Richardson - a journalist and former counterdrug officer - offers great insight in the video, which I briefly wanted to share. First, it is possible that some DTO members are leaving Arizona because they're concerned about increasing police scrutiny. However, if anyone thinks they're leaving for good, they're sorely mistaken. DTOs may not operate with as much impunity in the US as they do in Mexico, but they certainly won't be put off by a mere immigration law.
Please take a look at the video, and take to heart his comments; he knows what he's talking about, and I'm in complete agreement.
